I love the Fourth of July. This year I am taking a break from LaLa land and heading home to the O.C.One of my biggest pet peeves about Fourth of July is when girls get way too dressed up for beach BBQ’s.

In my opinion, if you are going to a BBQ near the beach - you should dress like you are going to the beach. Basically leave all your trendy/high maintenance gear at home including - gladiator sandals, high waisted shorts/skirts, belts, big earrings, layers of bangles, high heels.

Here are a couple outfits that I thought worked for Beach BBQ chic. My essentials for Fourth of July 2008 are: factor 50 sunscreen, big sunglasses, neon green havianas, dark denim cut-offs, and my fav American Apparel white t-shirt, and a simple necklace.
